Funniest quote I’ve seen in a while

I’m subscribed to Google Alerts, so in the course of wading through one, came across a weblog by Cindy Gimbrone.  Cindy is a “Lampwork Diva” and self described wirehead.

She recently posted a link to my Stud Tutorial, and made what was the funniest wire related comment I’ve seen in a while:

I feel as though I’ve admired Diane’s wire work since I was a short piece of wire.

(emphasis mine)

The image that conjures up is just priceless…  Thanks for the smile, Cindy 🙂

A week at Haliburton

I’ve just returned from a week of teaching at the Haliburton School of the Arts. What a wonderful experience!

There were 15 enthusiastic ladies in my wire jewellery class. “Lively” would hardly begin to describe the vibe this group generated. Although I threw a lot of information at them, they were eager to apply the techniques and were soon off and running, creating jewellery with their own unique twists.

Old website gone as of July 23, 2008

Now that I have had the new website up and running for a little over a year, and I’ve confirmed that the search engines are picking up the new url, I am going to be closing down the old site.  Please update your links from www.globalserve.net/~cybervugs (or www.iprimus.ca/~cybervugs) to www.wrapturewirejewellery.on.ca .

The old site will be disconnected as of July 23, 2008.

Problems with my server (UPDATED)

I discovered this morning that there seems to be a problem on my server with regard to the downloadable files. Until I get this fixed, if you get a message saying “Cannot open file” when you click the link sent to you, please just drop me a note and I’ll be happy to email it to you.

UPDATED (9:45 a.m.): I’ve resolved the problem, so everything should be back to normal now.

The Blog is up to date again (sort of)

After my disastrous deleting error last night, I’ve now got the most important blog posts back up. All I can say is “Thank Goodness for Facebook!”. I have my Facebook account set to import all the posts from this blog, so, while they were abbreviated, I was able for the most part to reconstruct them.

Lesson learned. Note to self: Don’t delete anything without doing a complete backup of everything, including the sql files.
